Disneyland Paris Fatshion

I have mentioned previously that my trip to Disneyland Paris this year was one of the best and most inspiration trips of my life thus far. I genuinely had the most amazing time and got to hang out with some of the loveliest people while I was there – which was a huge bonus too!

Before I went, I spent hours online searching for the perfect outfits to wear in the park. I’d been warned that I would need comfortable footwear (advice I chose to ignore and regretted doing so – Disney feet are evil. Fact.) and that I should bring jeans (again, advice I ignored but I didn’t regret this choice!) and comfy clothing. Now, I’m not really a comfy clothing kind of girl. I understand that for many people clothes are just something that have to be worn, they choose not to put much thought into them and good for them if that’s their choice. This fat girl however, likes to look good and so clothes are a very important part of my life.

I already had some Disney park ears that I had either brought online or had brought for me as gifts (I really do have the best friends a girl could wish for) and decided that I would co-ordinate what I was going to wear with them.

I arrived quite late in the day to the park so didn’t have long to explore before dinner on the first day, this meant that I didn’t change out of my travelling clothes – so no ears were worn on the first day! I did however wear a gorgeous dress from Yours Clothing (sadly, no longer available) which is covered in teeny tiny multi-coloured hearts. Turns out this was the perfect choice as I wandered around the Alice in Wonderland maze and had my photo taken with the queen of hearts!

I knew that I was wearing red and black the next day and didn’t have ears to match that outfit, so on the way back to the hotel I brought myself some lush black and red sequinned Minnie ears so I was co-ordinated to the max!

The dress that I wore was from ASOS Curve (sadly, no longer available either) and I teamed it with TU leggings and my red leopard print converse hi tops that I brought in Office – ok, I did take one pair of sensible shoes.

I had such a fun day, met loads of characters and even bumped into the Tweedles which was A-MA-ZING! I kind of regret wearing this top as the shapelessness of it makes me look way more massive than I actually am, but I was comfortable all day and co-ordinated so I can’t complain too much.

My outfits got progressively more ridiculous from this point. I was visiting the studios on the 3rd day and decided that was when I was going to smash out the Ursula Ears …. Can we just take a moment to admire how amazing they are ….

*Sigh* So in love with these ears.

Now, obviously if you’re rocking out some villain ears you can’t be wearing a pretty floaty summer dress, you need to make some impact and judging by some of the strange looks I got walking around that day, I think that my pleather dress and studded boots combination did just that.

The dress was from AX Paris at Simply Be (no longer available) the shrug is from Yours Clothing, the leggings are from TU, the boots are Joe Browns at Simply be and my bag is from Zatchels.

This was by far my favourite day. Once again, that is controversial to say as I spent the majority of it in the studios and I know that not everyone likes them but I really enjoyed everything there. The stars in cars parade with the impromptu meet and greet afterwards was awesome – here I met Ariel, Elvis Stitch and I hula danced with Lilo … how blooming amazing is that?

I loved the Animagique show, the live art section where you can join in and learn to draw characters, the storyboard of the development of Ursula, the toy story area and peering over the wall at the Ratatouille area being built!! SO much excitement!

Day Four brought my most ridiculous outfit of the trip with it, I had brought some leopard print Animal Kingdom ears online and decided to go all out leopard for my final whole day in the park. The dress is from Yours Clothing (no longer available) and is the love of my life. The fit and design of this dress is amazing, it makes me so happy I could burst. I teamed it with a black Tutu underskirt from Domino Dollhouse, Tu Leggings (do you get the feeling I only buy leggings from one place?) and my oxblood red studded boots from Simply Be.

This is the day that I met the most adorable princess stalkers in the queue for tickets to meet a princess. Although I was disappointed that I met Ariel again, especially as Tiana was in the other room! I also watched the Spring Fever parade for the zillionth time in 3 days and danced and sang along with everyone in the sunshine.

My entire stay was magical, and made me a very happy girl. The Dreams show every night was an emotional and dramatic end to a day of wonder, happiness and excitement before traipsing off back to my hotel and collapsing into my big comfy bed!

One of the most surprisingly excellent aspects of my DLP experience was the food, I ate in the most incredible places and was taken by surprise by how amazing the dining is. I will do a separate post about this on it’s own though as I have waffled enough for now!

Have you been to DLP?

Did you love it as much as I did?

What did you wear?
